January mens new “vinetki” for drivers who purchase on an annual basis. Check the small square sticker on the passenger side of your windshield to make sure your car is up to date. The vinetka system is a road tax to support maintenance of highways and is required for any car when it is driven outside of its home city. In addition to annual stickers, monthly and weekly vinetki are available.
2008 marks the opening of the new national company register, which requires the re-registration of all companies, partnerships and other organizations operating in Bulgaria. All court registrations must be transfered to the new company register, managed by the Registry Agency (Bulgarian only) by March 31. Applications have to be submited in person by the director (manager, owner,or representative) of the company at the office of the Commercial Register at the Registry Agency. The term of registration is 3 years.
