The A to JazZ Festival 2017 plays in Sofia’s South Park (Южен Парк) from 7-9 July. Always a popular event, this year’s festival is headlined by Swedish trio DIRTY LOOPS, the Grammy award winning ROBERT GLASPER EXPERIMENT and Grammy award winner CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE`S latest formation NEW JAWN. Main stage action starts at 18:00 each day, with the headline acts appearing at 21:00.

18:00 Big Band Orchestra (National Music Academy). Conducted by Mihail Yossifov.

21:00 Dirty Loops. Swedish fusion pop takes the stage by storm.
8 July (Saturday)
18:00 FunkXpress. An emerging Funk and Fusion band from Salzburg.
19:00 Angel Kovachev and the An’Faithful Band. Symbiosis of electronic and acoustic sound.
20:00 Jazzanitza. Contemporary jazz meets Bulgarian folk music.
21:00 Robert Glasper Experiment. One of the leading creative forces in music today.
9 July (Sunday)
18:00 The Uvira/Bruno/Hafizi Trio. Bulgarian/Dutch modern jazz repertoire.
19:00 Dorothy Takev. Exciting, compelling show. Full of surprises.
20:00 The ‘Lukáš Oravec Quartet. Award winning ensemble from Slovakia.
21:00 Christian McBride’s New Jawn. The latest from one of the greats.
In addition to the main stage performances, Havana Club Jam Sessions will carry the party through the night, with music until dawn at the Cache Bar in Park Center Mall.
A to Jazz Kids
This year, the A to Jazz Festival 2017 has organized a children’s jazz workshop specially designed to appeal to young jazz enthusiasts. The educational program presents a fun and entertaining way to learn about rhythm and melody using stories and games to teach important musical concepts.

8 July (Saturday)
10:30 Jazz Tales. An interactive concert about the history of jazz, instruments, and famous jazz pieces. Everyone gets to join in on the finale.
11:30 Musical Games. Specially prepared by the staff of A to Jazz Kids.
9 July (Sunday)
10:30 Musical Workshop. Latino Jazz.
12:30 Dance Lessons and Musical Games.
All events take place in the A to Jazz Kids pavilion.
A to Jazz Art Bazaar
Alongside the main stage is an art bazaar featuring dozens of vendors offering beautiful and unique products. Take home a piece of the festival to remember the A to Jazz experience all year long.
